About the event
Celebrate culture, community, and movement with our new Heritage Dance Series, where each month we highlight a different culture through dance. March is Greek-American Heritage Month and we are so grateful to have our Bellydance instructor, Christina Repa, who is from Greece to share these joyful traditions with you.
Greek dances began as community celebrations where people gathered in circles to dance, laugh, and connect. In this class, you’ll learn popular Greek dances like Kalamatianos, a lively circle dance known for its uplifting rhythm and strong sense of togetherness. You’ll learn the basic steps, have the chance to lead the line, and even learn how to hold the mandili; a handkerchief traditionally used by the leader of the dance. With a relaxed, welcoming, Greek-festival kind of vibe, this class is all about community, music, and celebrating Greek culture together. No experience needed—just come ready to dance and have fun!
