Suminagashi: The Art of Japanese Marbling
Experience the calming beauty of suminagashi, the ancient Japanese art of ink floating that dates back to the 12th century. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn meditative techniques for creating flowing, marbled patterns on water and printing them onto paper. Explore color mixing, layering, and overmarbling (printing a sheet twice) to unlock endless creative possibilities.
Each participant will leave with:
A set of 5 handmade notecards with 100% cotton paper and kraft envelopes
A collection of unique practice papers perfect for writing, painting, drawing, or display
